Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community situated on the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. In reality, the West Island, to those who don't know about it, is a huge area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel was born there and her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Early ambitions were to be the best performer in the world, however, she simply outgrew her dancing partners. The article she wrote about her experience revealed that was published in The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall, even when she wears heels. Once I outgrew male partners I quit. Many former dancers turn to acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a nudge from an instructor in drama at high school who encouraged her to go to take the next step. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the school's annual production. A teacher suggested that she go after a role in the annual school production. The show led her to receive a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program and graduated with A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Since then, for the more than 20 years that followed, Brugel has landed roles on more than 60 productions across both small and large screens receiving the most media attention, when she landed the character of Rita on the award-winning TV series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel, the only Canadian of the season 1 cast of the show and seen only occasionally, was the sole Canadian.
